Welcome to Thornewood, a tale of romance and healing woven through dark folklore, secretive magic, and terrifying curses set in a world of gaslamps and steam.

Valerian has spent their life locked away in a haunted tower deep in the heart of a cursed forest. Under their mother's watchful eye and cruel punishments, they knew nothing but the study of magic and witchcraft as they waited for the chance to escape to the world beyond the briar wall.

A fateful night, a moment they were left unguarded. They fled the tower and stumbled their way down its monster-infested dark road and out of the wood to the city of Hatherly.

In the peaceful twilight beyond the Wood, they're taken in by a dying apothecary whose kindness illuminates their previously dark existence. Under his care, they meet a society of Wizards and Mages dedicated to fighting back the curse of Thornewood.

Haunted by their past and gifted with rare axial magic, Valerian only wants to find peace. But when they inherit Reven's shop, they also take up his promise to help the Huntsmen with their task even if it means facing all the things they wanted so badly to leave behind.
