WSC Development Update


Hi everyone! I decided that it's time for a small development update here just so no one is confused about the status of this project!

So Gilded Shadows (my main project for those who are new to my games) is slowly drawing to a conclusion. There are still a couple of months of development left and then a few more months of wrapping up loose ends for Kickstarter backers. But we are nearing the point when WSC can become my primary focus. Not quite there yet though.

But that doesn't mean I'm not working on WSC every week - it's just still isolated to occasional late nights and most weekends. 

I actually do not recall how far along the story was at the time I released the first chapter snapshot.

Currently the project is 300,000 words.

  • Asher's route is complete. 
  • Daaz's route is complete. 
  • Noel, Raif, and Yren are all somewhere between 45-50% complete each
There are obviously more elements to the game than this (such as CG illustrations) but the whole point of releasing episodically is to space out the CG art due to my hand pain. So I'm not counting that since it obviously won't be done this early. With the BGs - technically I have all the necessary backgrounds but I am getting them re-done so this counter is for the new ones.



I am already planning some major revisions and additions to early chapters and there may be a sixth love interest who is currently elbowing his way into the story. 🙄

His name is Kav. He's a brat. His route is in the process of being planned out.


Mostly what I have been doing when I work on WSC is writing. I am trying to get the rough draft done so I can get into revising since I do think there will be some pretty heavy revisions (such as inserting an entire new chapter early on). And, of course, adding in a new character.

In addition to doing a lot of writing, I have also been working on some sprite related things - mostly drawing new outfits and secondary hairstyles and things for characters. Just lots of work on sprite variations to add interest and variety to the sprites.

Also basically getting all the BGs re-done which is underway but definitely going to take awhile.

My main reason for this post is just to reassure people this game has not fallen by the wayside and is very much still under active development as my side project. And I have made progress on it since the first release. 

One it becomes my primary focus I will update here more regularly. For now, WSC is still chugging along - slowly, but definitely making progress.

You somehow manage to surprise and impress me by the amount of progress you make each time you post an update. Which i don't mind since i've enjoyed everything by you xD I'm happily waiting for Yuu's route and looking forward to this. Thank you for your hard work!

I can't even explain how happy I am to know that there is something to expect further down the road. I absolutely adored Changeling, so when I discovered you were working on Gilded Shadows, I was so hyped. It was different a lot from Changeling, but somehow I felt I gonna love it. Like, when you like the author, their language and style - you know you'll love everything they do. And I was one of the few who from the start loved Caleb. I remember Tumblr debates about Caleb being 'too rude' and questionable, and the possibility of - if I'm not mistaken - even scraping out his route as a RO altogether. And how happy I was that it was not. Caleb's route was my first and turned out to be my favorite. Hands down best boi. And I'm ready to fight anyone saying otherwise.

I'm rambling, but I really am happy to know there's something to look forward to, even after Gilded Shadows ends. So thank you so much for everything you do, for creating your beautiful stories and letting us be a part of the experience.

💖💖 (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) Caleb is one of the top three LIs in that game so fortunately a lot of people ended up liking him. OwO

I actually have a lot of potential project ideas. I have an entire Obsidian vault with multiple project idea for future use. I will be making games until I'm 90 if I can. ╰(*°▽°*)╯

Holy hell, I was content to not get any news on When Stars Collide until Gilded Shadows was completely out the door. To get the news that there is already 300,000 words written for it is an amazingly good surprise! I'm really looking forward to exploring the world in this one, and I'm very intrigued by not just the LIs but the MC as well.

Well, as I said below, there was already a lot written at the time of the first release because I've been working on it in my spare time for a while now! I am really  hoping to have...at least two more routes done by the time GS releases. Ha ha. I feel like that's ambitious but I can dream! ╰(*°▽°*)╯

To be fair, there was already a lot written at the time I released the snapshot. LoL! I have secretly been writing this game in my spare time since like 2021 so it's probably not as impressive when you know that. ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭
