WSC Devlog (September)
Hello everyone! It's been about a month since my last update so I am checking in with you all on the development WSC.
Writing
Currently I am nearly to 375,000 (like a couple thousand words away). Basically the game is around 80% towards the target word count.
I caught Kav up to Noel, Raif, and Yren content-wise and have now been continuing to write the scenes for these four up to the start of chapter 9 where they all split into individual paths until the end of the story (there are 12 chapters total, not including the prologue).
I have their scenes written up to the end of Chapter 7. One more chapter until the split.
Based on my spreadsheet, I'm on track to finish the rough draft by the end of the year or earlier.
Artwork
I think I got 2 new BGs + a new sketch since last time (it's harder to keep track of how much BG work gets done between updates but based on the pace the artist works, that should be correct).
I coded in Kav's sprite as well. And I completed the remaining music room images.
I also have made some more changes to the UI and certain screens - including the choice screen. Basically I'm just trying to continue to experiment and improve the look and feel of the game bit by bit.
Finally, I realised (embarrassingly late) that I was going to have to update the first CGs in the game because that background is completely different now. So I've been working on that as well.
Upcoming month
Basically my main focus will continue to be getting the writing done. (I mean, it won't be done this month. But I'm working towards that eventual end point).
My spreadsheet has a final deadline and calculates how many words I need to write each day to meet it. All of my word count goals are structured around this, and so far I'm doing pretty well. I have to write around 950 words a day to be done by December 31.
Every time I go over my daily goal, that amount shrinks so when I first started with this spreadsheet a few weeks ago, it was like 1200 words a day. My goal is always to get my daily count down to 500 words because that guarantees I'm going to finish much earlier than my actual deadline and gives me a lot of cushion to be comfy in.
I have no other specific plans for this month though I'm sure I'll get new BG art or work on finishing up the CG revamps.
That is all for now though! See you next month!

I can't wait for the full game to come out! I've already played GS and Changeling (both were AMAZING) but this game is just up my ally! I can't wait to romance Yren ;)
Thank you for updating us, as always. Its always insane to me how fast you can write, and it's such good quality too! :)
I just try to write a specific amount every day (1000 - 1500 words a day on a normal day). It takes a lot of perseverance to do it on days I really don't feel like writing, but this is the only way I'm able to make steady progress and write as much/fast as I do. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
That's really excellent discipline, and it shows! I should try it too, but maybe a smaller word count to start. Haha.
