November Update and Devlog


Hello everyone! Time for the November update! TLDR is that I've wrapped up most of the development for Chapter 10. Beta released to Patrons about a week and a half ago sans two CGs.

Those are finished now and EA will be going out as soon as I get those coded.

Beta

So this month I released the beta to Patrons and have made a lot of corrections - mostly small stuff. This is the penultimate episode and is the biggest single chapter of the game at 92,000 words. This update puts the total content (not including the bonus scenes) at 507,000 words for the total! 

So far the corrections for beta have been minor fixes and typos.

EA should be able to go out this week, once I get the two final CGs coded. 

Early Access for Patrons will last 1 - 2 weeks and then the public release will occur. So that will be mid-December (a couple of weeks from now).

Art

Raif and Yren's CGs were completed this week.

I was going to try to have mini CGs for the love scenes like I did n GS but with the state of my hand...I gave up on that. They have their main CGs - which show Wil - and that is enough.

So yeah!

Coding and Other

For the most part my coding for WSC has been focused mostly on corrections and getting the CGs coded. I've done a bit of sprite coding for the finale (Chapters 11, 12, and 13) just to get a head start but I haven't done too much of that yet as I've been really focused on Chapter 10 stuff cause it's so chonky.

Other than that, just a few beta test corrections!

Upcoming Month

The upcoming month, of course, is a holiday month and I'm going to have a lot going on in real life so I may not get much done in the finale until January.

But the reality is that with Chapter 10 nearly ready for release, we're rounding the final curve for this game.

I intend to release the remaining 3 chapters (which is really more like 18 chapters because each character has 3 chapters) together. I could conceivable release 11 and 12 together then release 13 as a final resolution but Chapter 13 is relatively short so I don't think it's worth it to reserve for its own update.

The finale is, therefore, huge. It's about 130,000 words. Most likely it is going to take a while to code. I do think it'll be ready in the first quarter of 2026 but it's a lot and some of the chapters are incredibly chaotic.

But mostly there are a lot of side characters that appear so I have a ton of new sprites to complete - and not all of them get re-used. Plenty of them are route-specific.

I am considering the possibility of releasing the beta in steps (so releasing 1-2 routes at a time to beta testers) but non Patrons will get the entire finale together as a huge chunk.

Anyway.

That'll be the subject of the next few months of updates but anyone who reads this has a head's up!

(There is no trailer for this chapter because I haven't had time to make one! I might be able to get one out before the public release for anyone who wants to see sneak peeks! We'll see!)
