Devlog - Yuu's Route
Hello! Since it's been a few weeks since Reuben's route released, I wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know where the game currently stands.
There is one more route to be completed; Yuu's route. This route is currently about 70% drafted. After fully drafting the route, I will, of course, be going back to revise things so writing still has a bit more left to it. But I am nearly done with the final rough draft.
In terms of final word count, I don't have a clear number just yet because it can be hard to estimate how many words a route will be when its fully coded. Right now, I'm estimating the in-game word count at being just over 1,000,000 words but we will have a clearer number when Yuu's route is coded...which is probably a month or two away.
Right now I'm on track to finish drafting Yuu's route by the end of May. I have to write about 1200 words per day to make that happen which is not usually an issue for me.
So yeah. That's where things stand for Gilded Shadows.
This was quick but there's not much to report at the moment.

So far, Ari is my favorite. But I have been most excited for Yuu's route since the beginning. Ahhhh, I'm going to burst from excitement once he is finally released! :D

From the very beginning Yuu has absolutely stolen my heart.
I absolutely love Gilded Shadows and with every new route, I'm playing all the others again. Thank you so so much for this wonderful World and Characters. I'm very excited for Yuu's Route, I probably know his Demo by heart *-*

My favorite routes so far are Caleb and Ariel, but I have always been interested in finding out more about Yuu so can't wait. Yay!
I'm surprised Ari's a pretty popular character. He's so low key I wasn't sure people would like him! (￣y▽,￣)╭
Ari is a knightly character and in more ways than one. It was hard not liking him. Thank you so much for bringing joy to many people when reading your stories. ❤
I'm so so so excited! When Reuben's route dropped I ended up staying awake until 1:30am so I could get through it in one sitting! And then over the next week I played through everyone else's routes again (might have even played some of them a couple of times...).
I love the Gilded Shadows world - I love the Gilded Shadows characters! Can't wait to see what Yuu's route has in store for us.

im so excited for yuu!!! absolutely loved ruben's route he was everything i wanted and more /// they were both instant favourites for me so im really really excited also 1k words per day??? what a monster i want to do that too but i always lose motivation at 200 so i just resigned myself to being a little slow in writing...

As far as writing goes, I've just trained myself to write in a particular way using a variety of strategies. It's really the only way I get anything done. LoL There's nothing wrong with writing at a slower pace though.
The important thing is just to do what works for you!
I am so excited to play the final route! This is hands down my all time favorite VN and I've read Caissa and Magnus's routes more times than I can count. Lol. Thank you so much for bringing this world and characters to life! :D
